History of ARC group

1986 ARC Academy is established in Toshima-ku, Tokyo.
The school works on Japanese language education targeted at mainly financial business persons.
1987 The school is relocated to Minato-ku, Tokyo.
The Japanese language teacher training course is opened to offer. The school has been producing outstanding performance on Japanese Language Teaching Competency.
1988 The school is relocated to Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. ARC Academy Shibuya School is opened.
1990 ARC Academy Osaka School is opened in Kita-ku, Osaka. (now Naniwa-ku)
1991 The Immigration of the Ministry of Justice gives notice of “ARC Academy Shibuya School” as a Japanese language educational institution.
1992 ARC Academy Shinjuku School is opened in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
The school becomes a member of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
1994 ARC Academy Kyoto School is opened in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto.
The school becomes a member of the Japan Association of Personnel Ability Development.
The school publishes a series of Japanese language textbooks “Kana master” and “Kanji master”.
1995 ARC Academy Seoul School is opened in Seoul, Korea.
The school publishes a series of reference books for Japanese language teachers: “Acceptable level for Japanese Language Teaching Competency Workbook”.
1996 The school participates in the establishment of International Japanese Education Center. (now specified non-profit corporation)
1997 The Immigration of the Ministry of Justice gives notice of “ARC Academy Ikebukuro School” as a Japanese language educational institution. (now ARC Academy Shinjuku School)
1998 The school publishes a Japanese language textbook “Kaze no Tsubasa”. It wins the grand prize for “Digital Publishing” by Nikkei BP Corporation.
1999 The school publishes a series of Japanese language teacher textbooks “ Yasashii Nihongo Shidou”.
2001 The school participates in the establishment of Japanese Language Teachers Educational Council. (now general incorporated association)
2004 The school participates in the establishment of Japanese Language School Association. (now general incorporated association)
The Immigration of the Ministry of Justice gives notice of “ARC Academy Osaka School” as a Japanese language educational institution.
Chinese office is established in Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Tianjin China.
Web training course for the Japanese language teacher is opened.
2008 The Immigration of the Ministry of Justice gives notice of “ARC Academy Kyoto School” as a Japanese language educational institution.
2010 The school is entrusted with “Development of a training program for foreign nurse and care worker candidate based on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)” by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It is continuously entrusted until 2015.
2012 The school obtains ISO29990 certification.
2014 Establishment of “Private Education Institution” and “ Japanese Language School” are approved by Governor of Kyoto Prefecture. The school transfers Kyoto School’s operation to them.
The school joins “Promotion and mutual aid corporation for Private Schools of Japan”.
420 hours-web training course for Japanese language teacher is offered.
2015 ARC Academy Shibuya is relocated to Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (8mins walk from the Iidabashi st.)
2016 Establishment of “Osaka Japanese Language School” is approved by Governor of Osaka Prefecture. The school transfers Osaka School’s operation to them.
2017 Changed the school name in Japanese from Japanese Language School to ARC Kyoto Japanese Language School.
Changed the school name in Japanese from Osaka Japanese Language School to ARC Osaka Japanese Language School.
Establishment of the Incorporated Educational Institution “ARC Gakuen”
Shibuya school (Iidabashi campus) became a Miscellaneous School with the name “ARC Tokyo Japanese Language School”
2019 Relocated ARC Academy Kyoto to the current address, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto
(5 min from Marutamachi Station).
